Hi,
I’m Kelly Kowal, founder of My Warrior’s Place. We are so pleased that the Valencia Lakes Sports Clubs have chosen us as a recipient of the proceeds from their annual Charity Dinner and Silent Auction.
My inspiration for creating My Warrior’s Place was grounded in two events. Tragically, in 2009 my son Corey, an Army SPC and medic was killed in action in Afghanistan. Like most Gold Star Parents, I needed to find ways to cope with my loss and channel my grief into something constructive. And,
around the same time, having met many of our military who were returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, it was clear to me that there needed to be safe, quiet places for them to be. Places for reflection without the pressure of the day-to-day. My Warriors Place was the product of my grief and my recognition that I could be a part of the solution for nurturing our troops when they returned. I added to this concept First Responders, Firemen, Policemen, and their families.
We are a local charity that completely relies on donations to fulfill our mission.
Our friends from Valencia Lakes can provide you with more information about us and you can see for
yourself what we do by going to our website, mywarriorsplace.org, or—better yet—come for a visit. I know you’ll quickly understand how the words comprising our mission is being implemented with actions.
Please, please help support us by donating your company’s goods, services, or gift cards to the Valencia Lakes Sports Club’s Charity Dinner Dance and Silent Auction. And, like any charity, we welcome direct donations. Donations may be sent to: My Warrior’s Place, 11 22nd Street, NW, Ruskin, FL 33570.
Please help us fulfill our mission and please support the Valencia Lakes Sports Clubs by supporting their Silent Auction.
You Have My Gratitude,
